Beautiful watch.. Was seriously considering the new Tudor BB Chronograph reverse panda. I think I’m sold on this piece instead. Already own two Omegas already but the brand continues to grow on me more and more. Great content as usual..
The minimal dial printing/advertising is such a nice touch and on some level separates this from the Daytona

meh. considering the MSRP price hike and watchbox’s price hike squared, the actual Moonwatches 145.012 (or 105.012 with a bit of luck) are a much better buy. significantly sexier movement (purely visually) and actual historical importance (not just marketing pretence) as those references really did go to the Moon, unlike everything that came after
but if you’re only “in it” for the speedy looks and don’t care about anything else, it’s probably the best buy as the technological changes make it a better watch overall
but that movement looks just meh at best from a purely visual standpoint. totally machine finished, cam vs column nowadays is a non-issue cost-wise (it’s probably more expensive to produce the cam, lol), and the column wheel looks much much better (and still carries a bit more of a, purely marketing driven, prestigious cachet), and seeing that misshapen form of an intermediate bridge in such an expensive luxury piece is absurd. when did movement manufacturers in this price range forget to craft nice looking shapes? this is borderline criminal

For me this is the most beautiful model of speedmaster so far.
Is it a known “quirk” with this movement that the minute indicator jumps forward about 0.5s early? I see it happening here and on my new speedy I recently purchased.
That’s weird. Everyplace I read that the finishing on this caliber was better than on the previous one. You are the first one who I’ve heard said otherwise. Maybe articles were just hyping it up?
