Another Great Post! ThankXXX. Simply put, this is NOT an “Ed White” N.A.S.A. Flight-Qualified Speedmaster. To attain such Qualification Speedmasters MUST have A Hessalite Crystal. If a Sapphire shatters in A Weightless Cabin, this is A Disaster, as Sapphire shatters into Zillions of Smitheroonies. So no “Sapphire Sandwich” is ever ” Space Qualified”. The 321 Movement. Yes. It was the Movement that mostly flew in space. But it is not that Accurate, running at 18K B.P.H. The 861/1861 is more accurate at 21K B.P.M, something You didn’t mention. Also is the Issue of serviceability. The 861/1861, is still widely Servicable by Independent WatchMakers who still can get Omega parts. My one can. This 321 will have to have the “Omega Boutique” treatment & may possibly have to go back to Switzerland for Service, which will mean BIG Bukkaroonies. Also, Watchmakers HATE this movement. Our Broad-Arrow 1998, 1957 “Replicas” are THEE BEST, most accurate Speedmaster “Vintage” Re-issues out there. Also too, Our Watches are Flight Qualified by N.A.S.A!

Still not sure why the 321 was abandoned to the point of Omega having to reverse engineer the Ed White. Is cost of production the only reason? Why is that not a simple explanation?
Wow first time to your channel and am impressed. Love you graphics. Personally I’ve never lusted after a speedmaster I have had at least three opportunities to buy one and ultimately passed. I do have and older DeVille and a 300m non 🌊 dial with the 2500D. Love them. But the Speedie never spoke to me. But thanks
for explaining what the fuss on the Ed White is all about.
