Hope the ignorant understand this and stop thinking we stole anything from the masons. A lot of what we have Joseph Smith new before he was one. Just read the book of ether.

The reality is that the endowment was created by Joseph and heavily influenced based on masonry. God can accept our temple worship, noting that it wasn’t revealed from God, same for temple garments. This would be an adoptionist perspective of our doctrine compared to something revealed directly from God. God honors our temple work and accepts our offerings. I’m an active member of the church and this view is the only way I can reconcile what I’ve learned about the temple and other things after a deep dive over the past 6 years.
No, Joseph Smith “stole back” what the masons copped from the church. The church came first, it started with Adam. True religion, temple worship, the church, started with Adam and Eve. Everything else, is a copy, imitation, bastardization, of what the church has, starting with Adam.
And yes, that means Christianity, the true church of Jesus Christ, started on earth with Adam, and is the first, and only true religion. Simply, which came first, masonry, or the True Church of The Great Jehovah? The answer is very clear and evident. Joseph restored The Church and The Gospel. Anything good the masons have, came from The Church.
Just a coincidence he revealed the temple rituals very shortly after becoming a Freemason I guess. 😂
