The Disaster of the Diablo Auction House – Blizzard’s Failure at an In-Game Marketplace
Are you looking forward to the rumored Diablo 4 announcement at BlizzCon 2019 this year?
i wish they still had the auction house. The auction house was never the problem. The terrible itemization of the game was the problem. Also the Build, skill progression and over all scale of the game progress.
An auction house would be perfect for path of exile. But sadly because of diablo3s flaws there will never be an auction house for poe.
The biggest mistake was not the Auction House itself. It was the decision to tie Real money into the system. If players decided to take the risk in 3rd party trading, let it be.

“Killing any feeling of community in the Game” That was possibly the neck breaking thing. Not just bc of the Auction House but splitting the community then into HC, Regular, Season HC, Season which killed that feeling of community for Player who didnt have friends to play with almost completely.
Then introducing a new class which is OP for extra Money and the season system itself i think was the worst thing they could have done.
Other Games also have Auction Houses and it works, why cant Blizzard make it work? The real Money thing was stupid anyway, but a normal AH is possible.
Next they take any feeling of rarity away, Legendarys everywere. Instead it becomes a Grindfest, which is not bad, but it was only that and nothing else. It took sometimes years to Balance some Classes.
Tbh i wouldnt rly call it Balancing, i think it was on purpose that some classes didnt do 10% of the Dmg of the Top Class, is it so hard to higher the numbers on some Items? That they are atleast somewhat viable? I understand that some Mechanics are sensible so they have unexpected results, but not touching them at all was a problem.
There are many more problems with the Game and if they just had one guy playing that Game who told them what they should do and they would listen i think it would be more popular today.
I gave alot of feedback to Rykker and some ppl but seems they didnt care about the stuff im saying atleast back then, they were just hyped and positive about everything but they also complain about the same stuff for like a year but its to late now.
– “uuuh im so excited about the new class uuuh its soo strooong i cant believe.. this may revive D3” like they are hyped 12 y/o

Making a 2-5 minute video into a 17 minute vid on purpose so scummy
All I need in D4 is: 1. Decent lore, I don’t care if they remake the lore or revive some characters. 2. Balanced PVP, with arenas (duels, 2v2, 3v3, etc.), world pvp, pvp lobbies for tournaments. It should have a skill cap and should be interesting to watch.
AH was a good idea, but real money AH is not.
Also, they failed to control the economy of in-game money.
Now the in-game money is actually useless.
Also, the looting system is just too boring, just keep playing Rift and Greater Rift, boss become useless
No cooperation is needed in the game, just competing how fast to kill a boss
D3>ROS
change my mind
i just wish for a inferno level on d4… i want it to be difficult, scary, gore. i want to have to group up with good players to progress.
I loved the AH, made like 20k $ for just multiboxing a game, not bad.
D3 should just be forgotten in general within the diablo meta storyline, it’s just wow dungeon craw. Original release was ok(I guess not taking into the diablo universe) then they ruined it and made it unfun, there’s no point in playing anything but a necro anymore and all you do is run rift’s.
waste of internet resource
disaster of RMAH? lol? the only morons who cried and said the RMAH, are the people who didnt make any money from it… RMAH was the best thing to ever happen to the Diablo franchise… and they removed it… ALSO no one in their fucking life ever said the skill system in Diablo 3 was good… and the actual biggest problem with the game was drops for everyone in the game, as well as loot 2.0 making it so 99% of the time only items that were for the class you’re playing on would drop…
People still play diablo 2 today
very well made, watched the whole thing.
AH was the only reason part to play of this trash game… kid’s tears even with no pvp in game ruined it at all
I stopped playing after a couple of months. Highly gear-dependent stats and attributes with subsequent health and damage output and defense, paired with the auction house, made for a useless combo and grinding just to get stuff to sell to get money for the AH seemed like a proper waste. Pair this with the diluted on-the-fly respec system, and you have a game with immensely low long term replay and play value. The builds and their corresponding strengths and weaknesses in parties and things such as runewords were the essence of made D2 so awesome. It’s a shame, really, the gameplay side of of D3 is pretty good. I wasn’t a huge fan of the visual design either, but they at least appear to be going back to basics with D4, as far visuals and skill systems are concerned. Blizzard post-WoW has for me been nothing than a series of spectacular letdowns and poor decisions, their marriage to Activision hasn’t exactly helped either in this regard.
AH was kinda decent but those glitch exploit killed it. There is nothing can be done to fix it.
i don’t own diablo 3 games but think the auction house could have stay but boss mobs that drop loot to be bind on account and remove the real money idea and leave just the gold idea.
