We have to GET THEM AAAAAAAAALLLLLL TO GO BLONDE poosh and nit equal alllll OVER THE SHOW ROOM FLOOOOORS FUCK!!!!!
SOoooooo yeah…Leo?? HooooOoooow do you get Zeldas to ninja cause this guys about to clock out??!!!!!!
Totally agree on that……Daigo have been consistently one of the absolute best SF players since SF Alpha, II, Third Strike, IV, and now V, and in every game he is one of the top best…..just look at capcom cup, when Daigo have ever missed that……….he is always in the top 32 no matter what, even if he never win that, it doesnt matter, HE IS THERE……..go watch Smash Ultimate, the supposed “Smash Gods” the Leftens, the Mangos, the Mew2kings, the Hungrybox there are great at 1 SINGLE SMASH GAME Melee, and flop hard in all the others, very rare getting into top 8 or been the most consistence……While Daigo, Tokido, Haitani, and Sako, are still getting top 8 in newer entries of the SF games, no matter how many changes, how many new mechanics or LACK of mechanics, these guys are still kicking ass, taking premiers, and qualifying for Capcom Cups…..and Daigo is still the king of the first to 10s, its a testament that these guys takes this so much seriously than anybody and in that Daigo is probably the most impressive at his age.
Its AMAZING and VERY hopeful seeing top players recognize REAL talent and longevity in the FGC. They are supporting and admiring strong players that will keep the foundation true and open up avenues for newer players. You see this a lot with Japanese players, the willingness and eagerness to raise the next generation of players. These players will keep the FGC strong and allow more growth every year 💯
Emotions: “Daigo that match was a nail biter!!!”
Daigo: lightly scratches his nose
I don’t play and follow SF anymore these days but I do know that Daigo and Tokido (and the other 3 gods) will be forever legends in the FGC. You don’t even need to play Street Fighter to know at least one of those names.
Daigo is the most Jaded.
Tokido is my favourite FG player and I would say he is being very humble here. I think he is closer to that strength than he describes himself to be… but Daigo is and always will be a monster.
I don’t know much about street fighter because i’m mainly a Tekken player, but in fighting games i think the strongest player should be the most consisted player over the years. So for me the main indicator for me is consistency
Daigo is not strong at the moment as his prime time; but it doesN’t change hE’s legend and best
But LTG taught Diago.. the only skill that Daigo didnt learn was how to rage quit 😂
FT10 tournaments should be held
Tokido’s words are deep in so many levels…
Daigo is a legend to no matter what FGC comes.
Moment 37
Nuff said
Daigo may not be the beast of of player he once was, but the FTC platform was already established because of a beast of a player he was once then…Tokido knows the industry increased in popularity had a lot to do with Daigo.
Skill ? Lmfao sonic book every 1 second and chipping is not skill I love daigo but my god way to make the game look like a cheap persom paradise
Daigo is probably the only red belt in the FGC, because although he is an embodiment of the FGC, he also transcends the FGC in that he is our unofficial representative to the outside world, and he ultimately reflects very well of the FGC: commitment, skill, dedication, sportsmanlike etc… These are things the outside world wouldn’t necessary ascribe to the FGC, but because of Daigo, many have had the opportunity to come to appreciate these things about the scene and what it takes to truly stand out in it.
As the saying goes, Daigo with prep time is the Batman of fighting games, he is an expert at FT10 and higher formats. Nowadays he no longer has the same time and freedom to purely train for tournaments because he has to run shows, do sponsors, events to support the FGC, but he still maintains a high skill level to reach top 8 regularly.
But if he is challenged to an FT10, he gets to focus all his attention and training down to defeating a single opponent, this prep time combined with his skill and years of experience makes him the strongest FT10 player in the game.
Daigo was trained in the arcade to achieve insane win streaks such as his famous 286 streak in Vampire Savior, he is known to have incredible mental and physical stamina at playing fighting games, he is able to focus and maintain peak performance longer than anyone else. With his experience at playing, he has also learned to adapt and read opponents more the longer a match plays out, so the longer you play against him, the stronger he gets and he will outpace you in a marathon of matches.
This combined with his reputation puts an incredible amount of pressure on anyone who decides to face him, there’s almost nobody in the world who can stand up to him. In fact the only person who ever defeated Daigo in FT10 was Fuudo, who Daigo then rematched and won, every single Evo champion who challenged him to FT10, Xian, Infiltration and Tokido all lost to him.
He is a living legend and will always be one.
The other thing to consider is that Daigo these days has said that, although he tries his best to win, he is more concerned about understanding and studying the game deeply. He’s ascended past being concerned about wins and losses in the next up coming tournament. There’s no doubt that if Daigo wanted to focus on just winning, he could spend time practicing the strongest characters at the moment. But at this stage in his career, true fulfillment for him lies beyond the concept of win/loss records. It’s learning and understanding the game at the deepest levels that really drives him.
