Which Pokemon starter is your favorite, and why is it Bulbasaur?
I love this Pokémon game!
I would love to play a retired Pokémon champ that makes a comeback, kind of like a Rocky movie. Just with Pokémon.
Well… How bout a Top 10 Favorite Pokémon? 😛
Bulbasaur is in the game, but is unobtainable as of yet…
I’m with you on the Gyms being dope but otherwise I think you’re trying a little too hard to see more good in this game then there is. Hop sucks. That whole character arc you discussed would have been nice but lets be real it doesn’t exist. There’s also a terrible amount of postgame content
The oh, 900 pokemon to catch is daunting, is only for the reviewers/completionists that do that as a job, for a normal player the more pokemon you have, the more hours you spend in a game, the more value it is, especially when you love the game. That also make people able to get ALL their favorite pokemons, and catch those first, not everyone is for catching all 900, but for sure there were a ton of favorites cut from this game that you can never get. The story was weak, the writing and conclusions left a sour taste, like it isn’t complete, like it was rushed at the end. The quality of life has improved greatly, the wild area is great, but it’s small, just a small step, but hopefully it will not be just a mechanic that was here, and then thrown to the side. YES this is one of the greatest pokemon games for pokemon standard, but as a GAME standard it’s very bad…. only positive thing i can say about it that has no controversy is the quality of life improvement to get into competitive and the best thing ever added to the game THE RAIDS

“One of the strongest single player experiences in the series.”
What game did you play and where can I get it? Cause all I experiences was “GO DO THE GYM CHALLENGE OH LOOK THERE GOES LEON TO DO MORE INTERESTING THINGS, HAVE FUN WITH YOUR GYM CHALLENGE!” Nothing really happens till the end of the game and it feels really disjointed, the character stories are rushed especially Bede, and you don’t really get to do anything interesting till the end. The characters are CONSTANTLY stopping you on the most linear routes, they’re almost straight lines half the time but HERE’S HOP AGAIN TO TELL US WHERE TO GO LIKE WE’VE GOT NO BRAIN RATTLING IN OUR SKULLS. There’s no puzzles, and while the gym challenge “puzzles” were interesting the later you go in game they feel less and less interesting. I’d kill for silph co maze or something more than a straight path in this game, or a more branching story. But, all we get is go here, go here, oh look fascinating stuff is happening off screen where you can’t see it and when you show up it’s already over. I’ve had more fun playing anything but this game, which sucks because I love pokemon! I’ve had every game since red and blue! But, I just can’t bring myself to enjoy this game. It’s short, it’s disjointed, the story lacks a lot, there are lots of buggy animations and shadows, and some of the textures just look muddy. The game feels rushed, and even the online aspect is infuriating. I’ve got the unfortunate bug of my online y-comm stamps do not refresh so good luck to me finding any fun raids to join, plus i’ve explored every nook and cranny of the wild area. And I really loved the wild area, it was a great addition to this franchise but it’s just…tiny and the rapid weather changes rather than introducing certain open area biomes is just jarring. The game coulda been a lot better even without the nat pokedex, it just didn’t happen though and it’s pretty disheartening.
My rating is
*Don’t finish it!*
Gotta catch em some lol agrees though we need a sequel I want to see more about the cities and leaders also they need to add mini games into the Wild area like the bug catching comp, fishing comps etc
between this and star wars, I’m getting all kinds of both-sides-of-argument-of-flawed-things reviews lately.
This has to have been the worst story in any Pokémon game, and I really can’t understand your thinking. Everything interesting happens off screen. Only the very final route is as explorable as viridian forest, everywhere else is just go A to B. And then when you get to B you get your hands held to slowly walk you to the next location.
One of my favourite things in any Pokémon game is exploration. And the only place that has it is the wild area, and that doesn’t really have much. It just feels like a glorified Safari Zone.
I hate how so many game ‘journalists’ reviews mentioned “I finished the campaign in 15-20 hours and didn’t even notice the national dex drama’
it’s such a fundemental misunderstanding of how any of it works let alone why anyone had a problem with it.
I don’t personally care about the national dex I’m just sad a franchise I’ve loved for 20+ years has the creative output and innovation of a leather boot, I understand they’re basically a merch company at this point but why wouldn’t you want the game to have a lifespan longer than 15-20 hours for most players, the second games in the series (Gold/Silver) had more changes and innovation than the last 15 years combined
It’s funny how you can make a pokémon fight sound like an epic experience when you basically spam the rock-paper-scissors combo and one shot everything
If Arlo can find more faults in this than you can something is off.
if you take 500 hours to complete the gen 3 games it would take you about 20 days with no breaks or sleep

Lmaoooo I’m gonna start calling people “Idiotic beta Kakunas”
Awesome
Jirard does his best to be positive, but when Arlo calls this game basura? You KNOW it is. He’s the #1 Nintendo fan in the universe.
