It angers me to some extent that so many of these miracles of nature were dismissed and forgotten about by us hundreds of years ago because “scientists” deemed certain practices archaic and irrational. Why has it taken men like Paul Stamets to bring this knowledge, that seems amazing to us but to many tribal peoples is common knowledge, back to us when we’ve had the methodology and technology to do so for many decades? I became interested in the topic of “primitive” wisdom when I started reading The Cosmic Serpent by Jeremy Narby, which I very strongly recommend to everyone watching this video. When you learn of all the medicines that have been developed directly because of age old tribal plant knowledge you can’t help but wonder at the inefficiency and pure “rationality” of science.

This man is amazing! I saw him on Joe Rogans podcast and he has inspired me to aspire a scientific career. I´m currently studying Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and if I ever achieve something meaningfull I will make sure to mention Paul Stamets and his mother.

“She started taking 8 Turkey Tail capsules a day.”…I’m curious to know if she had Paul’s Fungi Perfecti Host Defense brand which is a mycelium on grain mash..or an actual fruited body or extract?..I’ve heard the beta-glucans argument..

I have had mushrooms communicate with me in a dream. It was January, and I was in a band on the road. We were playing in Tampa Fl. I really wanted to go picking psilocybin ,but I was not familiar with the area. We were staying in a band house, where all of the bands stayed when they played at
TIME SQUARE. Which was the name of the club we happened to be playing. There was a little brown mushroom growing up through the grout in the shower tile of the band house. I went to sleep wondering where I could go, and thinking about the little mushroom in the bathroom next to my room. That night I had a very vivid dream. I dreamed that after our show, I got in the band car, and started to drive. I took three left turns, and came to a bridge. I stopped the car on the other side of the bridge, the left hand side of the road, and shined my flash light over the fence.
And in my dream, there were a dozen caps growing out of a patty, right next to the fence.
After the show, the next night,
I borrowed the car, and set out to look for a field. I didn’t know where to go, so I just decided to go through the motions of my dream. Every time I took a turn , I felt like it was just like in my dream. When I came to the bridge, I knew that this was an impossible coincidence. Then when I shined my light over the fence, there they were. About ten caps growing right next to the fence. I believe to this day, that somehow the fungus had communicated with me through my dream. I have never met anyone who has shared the same experience. But whenever I go picking with my friends, I always come back to twice as many as they do. I don’t go in the dark anymore. I love looking for mushrooms of all kinds now.
Today I found some Turkey tail and some summer oysters. I am always very careful to take only what I need, and I don’t damage the mycelium. I take note of the premature ones, and I come back when I feel like they are calling to me. I do believe that Paul Stamets is on to something. Fungus is the central nervous system, and the brain of the earth. It is what connects us to every thing in nature. Even the elements. And it is what passes information through the cosmos.
Intelligent life is all around us. Even the drops of water can retain memory, and communicate information.
