English novelist Jane Austen’s beloved works, like “Pride and Prejudice,” explored the dependence of women on marriage in British high society.
—
Whether she’s describing bickering families, quiet declarations of love, or juicy gossip, Jane Austen’s writing often feels as though it was written just for you. Her dry wit and cheeky playfulness informs her heroines, whose conversational tone welcomes readers with a conspiratorial wink. Iseult Gillespie explores the sly societal satire and unique tongue-in-cheek humor of Jane Austen.

If Jane Austen lived and wrote today, she would be poking fun at Political Correctness and tyranny of wokeness, mercilessly.
This comment section is so entertaining XD

Aliens 👾 reading Jane’s novel
That’s reasonable
I was with you until you recommended Virginia Woolf I cannot stand her whiny books
“Titular character”
That’s not what ‘titular’ means.
It means ‘holds a position *in name only*’. The most common use is in the Catholic Church, which appoints men to ‘titular’ dioceses – usually old dioceses in North Africa where no Catholics live these days – so they can be consecrated bishop without having a substantive diocese of their own.
Emma is eponymous.
Dear speaker
I love your voice
Wish if you can make a video analysing “Wuthering Heights” ❤️
She is one of my favorite authors, have read and loved Pride and Prejudice and Emma.
When I was younger I would come home and watch ted Ed straight away
I hated Emma until she was wrong.
The only austen novel i like is “pride and prejudice”. I remember read this one night straight and forget to sleep. The others are too much for me. “mansfield park” is the hard to digest.
I didn’t particularly enjoy her books….
I haven’t read them all, but I found them quite dull till the middle where they began to warm up. Talking of pride and prejudice btw…
But, Ted-ed has convinced me to reread them.
Ted-ed does that a lot.
To be honest……
I prefer Charlotte Bronte’s work……
One half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other
her ” Pride and Prejudice” is my favorite…
